Toni Bianchi, CPDT-KA,
CDBC Owner
and head trainer at P.E.T.S. has been professionally training dogs for more than ten years, there is nothing
she enjoys
more than seeing a dog and his owner have a mutually trusting
relationship. She is committed to providing the most effective
solutions to suit her clients needs. She actively pursues continuing
education and professional development by attending several
seminars per year and keeping current on industry literature. Her
training philosophy is based on the science of learning and a thorough understanding of animal behavior.
She holds a Bachelors Degree from
Purdue University in Management and an Associates Degree in
Computer Technology. She is a Certified Professional Dog
Trainer since November 2005 and a Certified Dog Behavior
Consultant since December 2008.
She is an APDT Professional member and a Certified member of the
IAABC (International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants).
She is also an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator, Delta Society
Pet Partner and a Delta Society Team Evaluator. Toni lives with
three Great Danes, Libby a 10 year old Fawn, Vinnie a 3 year old
Black, and Bernie a 2.5 year old Harlequin. She has previously
competed with her dogs in conformation.
Sara Taylor teaches
our Beginner Clicker Workshops and Puppy Classes. She worked as an
assistant trainer for three years before becoming the lead trainer in
several of the Beginner and Puppy Classes. She is studying to take
her CPDT exam in Spring 2012. She is also working towards her
Bachelors Degree in Business Management at Purdue North Central.
She is employed by Centier Bank as a Cash Management Analyst. She
recently rescued a Border collie mix from a local shelter.
Cindy Atterberry teaches
our Rally Obedience classes. Cindy has competed in Conformation
since the early 90's; she now competes in both AKC and APDT Rally.
She discovered positive training 10 years ago and learned how fun
training can be. She lives with two Collies and a Sheltie. Cindy
and her collie Amber have acquired an AKC Rally Novice title as
well as an APDT Rally title. Cindy is also an AKC Canine Good
Citizen Evaluator. She is studying to take the CPDT exam in Spring
2012.
Tammy Patterson teaches
our agility classes. She is a native to Northwest Indiana having
grown up in Kouts. She has been involved in dog training for 15
years and in agility training for 10 years. She previously served
as an agility trainer for four years at the Cudahy Kennel Club in
Wisconsin. She currently has one Alaskan Malamute, now 8 years old
who is competitive AKC and UKC agility dog and has several titles.
Tammy earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Purdue University
in biology/ecology/behavior as well as an Associate Degree in
veterinary technology also from Purdue. She completed her Master's
of Science at the University of Michigan in conservation biology,
returned home and currently works at the Dunes National
Lakeshore.
Maureen Foos will be
teaching our upcoming Musical Canine Freestyle "Dancing with
your Dogs" program. Maureen retired from the steel industry
after more than 20 years as a metallurgical engineer. When her
first dog, Maestro, a border collie, entered her life, she began
learning as much about dogs, how they think, how they learn, how
to work with them, their physiology, as she could. She, Maestro
and her sheltie Pippin have earned titles in agility and rally
obedience. Most recently they have begun competing in freestyle
enjoying the opportunity to continue to learn and work
together.
